METALLIC WALLS
With marble floors and mirrored closets, Matthew Quinn made a "hushed spa" that nonetheless met his customer's love for bling, look more
interesting ideas. Light bounces off the numerous reflective endings -- even the silvery grass-cloth wallpaper -- so the toilet feels "extravagant but low-key."
OLD-WORLD WAINSCOTING
Back at the 18th-century when this Massachusetts farmhouse was built, there was no such thing for a master bath. So architect Michael T. Gray and interior designer Hattie Holland carved one from a hallway and added wainscoting and window casings to make a sense of yesteryear.
GARDEN VIEWS
Double French doors at a Queen Anne cottage's master bathroom open to the courtyard to get immediate sunlight.
MIRRORED DRAWERS
A vanity table links a set of mirrored bureaus at a vintage-inspired space by Carrie Hayden. Thick slabs of honed marble for those backsplashes and counters -- combined with an antique gilt mirror -- complete the dressy, old-world appearance.
